January – We had a busy start to 2018. Our Management Meeting took place towards the end of January with lots of discussions and planning. We had several meetings in January with a focus on our eCommerce services, showcasing our capabilities and facilities to prospective customers.
February/March – Our first fundraiser of the year for MND Association was a ‘Bake it!’ day, with lots of delicious cakes for sale and we raised over £50! Peter Connolly joined us a IT Project Manager to oversee additional IT systems integrations, especially for our expanding eCommerce solutions. We implemented Paragon, our new planning tool.
April – We celebrated 8 years of NX! The company continues to expand year on year, and we are looking forward to celebrating again next year! Coupled with this growth, Karl Passey joined the team as Operations Manager. April was a busy month, with our first exhibition at the Northamptonshire Expo in Corby, where we showcased NX Courier and our complete range of services. Our corporate photoshoot got everyone smiling for the camera! Neil, our Managing Director, and Mark our Commercial Manager, took their annual trip to visit existing and new customers in The Netherlands. The company took part in On Your Feet Day, promoting getting up and staying active – plus we won a stand-up desk on a social media competition!
May – Vardy the Giraffe joined the team to help us celebrate the ‘Employee of the Month’ for those who stick their neck out for NX. Since launching this scheme we have received more and more nominations each month, both from colleagues and customers!
June – International Women’s Day saw us celebrating women in logistics, with a press release going out in the local papers. A few lucky winners took home some great prizes for our MND Association raffle which raised over £400!
July – Our Managing Director and Financial Director attended the UKWA Awards and even met Andrew Marr.
August – We launched our Health and Wellbeing for all employees, handing out branded water bottles and health packs to everyone. Our Finance Director, Russell Powell, celebrated 5 years with NX. Darren O’Neill joined the team as Fleet Compliance Manager.
September – We exhibited at the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce Expo in Kettering, showcasing The NX Group. Employees celebrated passing their NVQs in a range of qualifications, supported by NX. Dave Howarth took on the TransAid cycling challenge in Zambia.
October – Chris Davison joined the team as Nights Warehouse Shift Manager. Two additional Courier vans were added to the fleet and look great out on the roads!
November – A busy month preparing for Black Friday and Christmas, with more stock coming in for deliveries throughout the UK, especially into retailers. We have planned our Christmas fundraising for December, with prizes donated from our customers and suppliers.
