Meet the Transport Team
This is the first blog in our meet the team series. In this post we meet the Transport team here at The NX Group. Our customers and drivers talk to the Transport team every day to arrange collections, deliveries, updates on deliveries and a whole range of other tasks. This is one of the largest teams here at NX, covering a variety of roles. The team are located at our main operations office in Crick, Northamptonshire.
What does the team do?
Within the Transport office, there are several roles covered. The wider team consists of our transport customer service team, key accounts team and administrators. These roles cover everything from booking in drivers, arranging collections and deliveries, booking deliveries for Ireland and the EU, customer service support for our key accounts to name a few. There is always a buzz in the office, with the phones ringing and emails flying in.
Jo Lawlor – Team Leader
Jo has been at NX for four years, working within the Transport team as Team Leader. Her day to day role includes over-seeing the department, working closely with customers and drivers to arrange delivery information and much more.
We caught up with Jo to find out a bit more about her!
What’s your favourite part of being team leader?
Encouraging and working alongside my team, continuously letting them know ‘they’ve got this’ and when we all work together to resolve issues it’s a really good feeling.
Tell us a fun fact about you?
I used to play Rugby for Northamptonshire as a prop.
You recently completed an NVQ, tell us a bit more?
My NVQ was in Team Leading and Management Level 2, which was supported by The NX Group. I am really pleased to have completed this and broaden my knowledge.
Dave heads up the Key Accounts division of the Transport team, working with Petra, Nick Amy and Dianne. All enquiries from our EU customers are looked after by this team, including booking deliveries into retailers distribution centres and Amazon Fulfilment Centres. The team work closely with customers to build business relationships and assist with all enquiries.
Customer Service Team
The transport customer service team work closely with the drivers to update delivery ETAs, PODs and more. The phones are always ringing when you pop into the office and updates on deliveries are coming through from our drivers. The customer service advisors are the main communication team between customers and drivers.
Within the Transport team Anna and Veronica are the Administrators, looking after the POD scanning, booking deliveries to Ireland and the EU, and other admin tasks.
The team all work really hard to provide our customers with excellent customer service, they all support each other and provide a fun working environment!
