Double director appointment boosts growth for our firm
We have recently appointed two new non-executive directors to our Board, bolstering our strategy team as we continue to expand our customer base and operations at home and abroad.
Helen Bell and Dave Howorth have joined our Crick-based firm, where our services and divisions have been growing steadily for more than a decade. Dave and Helen’s roles will encompass developing our strategy within the transport and logistics sector, as well as providing guidance on how we can accelerate our growth in various business areas.
Dave, 58, from Wokingham, came to us from a long-established career in the supply chain sector. For more than a decade he was Northern Europe Supply Chain Director for General Mills, who produce brands including Häagen Dazs, Green Giant, Nature Valley, Yoplait and Old El Paso, and he has also worked in in-house logistics at Pepsico and in third party logistics, providing services to clients such as Mars and Comet.
Dave was approached by our Chair, Mike Powell, over a year ago to work for us in a consultancy capacity. His guidance role at The NX Group was formalised earlier this year with his non-executive director appointment.
Dave said: “I’ve always found that The NX Group strikes the right balance between driving business performance and having fun; the directors and management are a brilliant and very cohesive team who share similar goals for the future of the company, which is an inspiring environment to work in. These are exciting times for The NX Group as we increase our services nationwide and in Europe, and it’s a privilege to be part of these developments.”
Helen, also 58, from Tring in Hertfordshire, joined us following a word-of-mouth recommendation from another of our non-executive directors. She is an FCIPD-qualified senior HR professional whose career has spanned a diverse range of multi-national and independent businesses in the commercial and not-for-profit sectors, including Hyundai, TK Maxx and the Council for Awards in Care, Health & Education.
Helen reflected: “Having held executive HR positions for the past 15 years, and worked collaboratively with senior business leaders to achieve results in a number of different industries, I feel confident that I can offer broad, well-founded guidance in my role as non-executive director.
“The NX Group’s team of directors is particularly forward-thinking, with a strong focus on growth across the whole company. I’m very much looking forward to working alongside such an ambitious team and supporting the firm in its aims.”
Managing Director Neil Powell commented: “We’re very pleased to welcome these exceptionally experienced and talented individuals to our Board of Directors. I have no doubt that Helen and Dave’s contributions and insights will significantly strengthen our provision and help to widen our firm’s reach internationally. Together we are determined to maintain and build on our track record of providing consistently excellent service to our ever-growing customer base across each of our divisions.”
