Gearing up for a busy black Friday and Christmas

With Black Friday (25 November) and Cyber Monday (28 November) just days away, and the Christmas period hot on its heels, our staff are preparing for the annual spike in demand for our warehousing, distribution and ecommerce services.

The once-a-year bargain bonanza sees retailers slash prices on many of their products and with consumers watching their budgets, these deals are sure to prove popular and will mark the start of the festive shopping rush.

Operating a Closed Pallet Network, we have our own dedicated fleet of vehicles and drivers to ensure goods are delivered safely to their end destination. Continual investment in our transport fleet also allows us to keep ahead of the game for all levels of security on our vehicles, giving extra reassurance that goods will be safe and secure.

We also use Road Tech’s Roadrunner Driver app across our team of drivers. The app increases the efficiency of the delivery process via a sophisticated system that enables each driver to see at a glance the collection point, delivery point and address, recipient’s contact details and a brief description of the order – all of which saves valuable time when orders start to come in thick and fast.

Our warehouse facilities are highly secure, ensuring your goods are safe at all times. We operate the highest levels of security with all of our facilities working to TAPA standards. Our comprehensive Warehouse Management System (WMS) allows many benefits such as an online customer portal for up-to-date stock reports, KPI productivity reports and stock attribute functionality including serial numbers. Our team are on hand for all enquiries and have experience in handling bookings for both small and major retailers.

Our facilities, vehicles and extra security measures allow for greater and more efficient storage and distribution, as well as better protection for the sort of valuable, electronic goods that are traditionally in high demand on Black Friday.

Black Friday is often the busiest day of the year for many companies. As we deliver most of our pallets to retailers on behalf of our various clients, the period leading up to the 25th of November significantly increases the workload across the entire team.

Senior Operations Manager Richard Mallard, who oversees our transport and warehousing processes, has seen the pre-Christmas period grow year on year.

Senior Operations Manager Richard Mallard, who oversees our transport and warehousing processes, has seen the pre-Christmas period grow year on year.

Richard says: “We always expect an increase in orders at this time of year, usually at least 50%, as many people now opt to buy their Christmas gifts online.

“We’re also providing ecommerce services to even more customers than ever, which brings with it a whole new set of dynamic challenges. Because it involves more targeted picking and packing, as well as home deliveries, it can be time-consuming; however, our team of ecommerce processors are on hand to ensure we continue to deliver as demand steps up.

“By keeping up to date with technology and security measures across our facilities and fleet, we’re well-prepared for the festive period. At this time of year and all year round, we’re dedicated to maintaining strong relationships with our customers and strive to meet their needs on time, every time.”
